Life on the farm is varied and fun - most of the time!
January to March we are calving with 50 suckler cows - simmentals and herefords - crossed with a pedigree Aberdeen Angus bull - called Elvis. This year we have had 30 beautiful calves so far.
James gets busy ploughing and drilling the spring barley as soon as the ground dries out. The barley may be sold for beer making if the quality is right.
April is a great time with bluebells in the woodland and lambs being born
We saw 5 red kites whilst on the tractor in this field. They have become much more common recently. Perhaps we will see the Great Bustard next year!
If you are visiting us at the time when we are doing something that interests you, we are very happy for you to come out and help.
